If you have a nickname, what is it? Kev or Kevy

Are you single, married, have children? Married with an 8 month old little boy.


If you have children: how many, what are their names, how old are they:

Layne is 8 months old!

What state do you live in ? Texas (woo-hoo)

What do you spend way too much of your time doing?

Being crazy busy!!!

What do you wish you could spend more of your time doing? Spending quality time with my husband and son.

How did photography find you?

I am passionate about “art” and creativity and have been searching for an outlet. Photography basically fell in my lap. I bought a camera about 7 months ago and just started shooting.

What is your favorite thing to take pictures of?

People- of course!!! I love doing engagements, seniors and my little boy!!!

How long have you been doing photography ?

7 months- I know- I’m probably the “baby” photographer, but you have to start somewhere.

Do you have a photography business? If so, for how long? Yes- about 3 months.

What is your favorite food? Mexican…preferably quesadillas or fajitas. Oh- and I love banana pudding.

What is something you can’t live without?

My mom…she helps me with whatever I need…and whenever I need it. She’s great.

What is something no one knows about you?

When it comes to photography I want to be the BEST. I’ve got a lot to learn, but am willing and driven to do so. Also- I am a Christian who wants to make a difference in this world.

What is on your iPod or Playlist:

Jeremy Camp, Matt Powell (very talented)…pretty much anything pop, texas country or Christian. I used to love Metallica.

Are you a night owl or early riser? Can I say NEITHER… but now I have to be whatever my son is.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure? It’s horrible…Reality TV!

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world…dead or alive, who would it be?

My friend Marc who passed away almost 2 years ago. I just wish I could thank him for being such a good friend to me.

What are some things that you like?

My sleep, music, the lake


What are some things you don’t like
?

Screaming babies, pecans and being cold

When you can do anything, what do you do?

Grab a good magazine, a drink, put my swimsuit on and go lay out by the pool

What do you have to do before you die? Travel to Italy and just be proud of the person I was on earth…

Funny

I used to be pretty clumsy and I’m not very coordinated (I guess they go hand in hand.

Serious

My son was born 2 ½ months early and had to be in the NICU for 6 weeks. Hardest 6 weeks of my life!

Entertaining

I can usually make my family laugh…especially when I am “uncoordinated.”

Philosophical

It’s refreshing to remember that we were not put on this earth to make ourselves happy- rather to please God.

Exciting

I’m going to a really cool workshop in February!

True

Sometimes I wear my feelings on my shoulders.

I feel like I married the best man on earth (for me ).

I like to remember that we all have more power than we know.

Are you single, married, have children? Single, no children

If you have children: how many, what are their names, how old are they:

What state do you live in? North Carolina

What do you spend way too much of your time doing? Emails

What do you wish you could spend more of your time doing? Spending more time with friends and family

How did photography find you? My father gave me my first camera when I was just a child. I have been photographing my environment ever since. I was a staff photographer for my high-school yearbook and enjoyed taking pictures throughout my college and post-college years. I actually decided to do it as a profession after becoming frustrated with my job.

What is your favorite thing to take pictures of? People

How long have you been doing photography ? Professionally for 3 years, overall since I was 8 or 9 years old.

Do you have a photography business? If so, for how long? Yes, for 3 years

What is your favorite food? Gosh, I can’t pick a favorite! I love snow-crab legs, a good juicy hamburger, mayo, watermelon, cherries, cauliflower, Snuffer’s cheese fries…I could go on…I love food (and it shows!)

What is something you can’t live without? Music, I have varied musical tastes and I really love

What is something no one knows about you? Can’t tell or someone will know!

What is on your iPod or Playlist: All types of music, country and hip-hop and Ryan Adams get the most playing time.

Are you a night owl or early riser? Night owl

What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Ice Cream, I’m addicted

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world…dead or alive, who would it be? I can’t decide : > )

What are some things that you like? The beach, naps, money, funny people, my favorite tv shows, working out

What are some things you don’t like? Seafood (except shellfish), mushrooms, mean people, migraines, working out (yes, on both like and dislike – it is a love/hate relationship

When you can do anything, what do you do? Sadly, usually watch TV or take a nap

What do you have to do before you die? Get married and have children!

Exciting Some of my work is being published in a book!

True although you’ve never know it by just looking at my office (a touch messy), I have a little OCD in my personality, for example my pens in my office are organized by type and then by color

Spending time with my family in Tennessee



How did photography find you?



I saw an ad in the paper for a job as a photographer for the Auto Trader!
It sounded like fun and I needed a job.  I lasted about a month and then got
a job at Kiddie Kandids (a children's photography studio in the mall).  Then
I "worked my way up" working for a few other studios before starting my own.



What is your favorite thingto take pictures of?



7 month old babies!

 

How long have you been doing photography?7 years

Do you have a photography business? If so, for how long? yes, 1 1/2 years

What is your favorite food? I must say the pork barbacoa burrite enchilada style at Cafe Rio in Utah--so YUM!  And, of course, chocolate

What is something you can’t live without? my hubby, fmaily, and trips to the beach!

What is something no one knows about you? I sometimes :take pictures: in my sleep.  I'll be setting up shots and telling people to smile! (my hubby knows...)

What is on your iPod or Playlist: The Beatles, Hinckleys (my brothers), Anonymous (hubby's band)

Are you a night owl or early riser? Definitely a night owl.  I hate getting out of bed in the morning

What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Chocolate cake and Outback's cheese fries

Tell us something about you:

Entertaining We spent 2 weeks in Europe at the end of June when it should have been perfect weather but it was freezing and cold and rainy the whole entire time! 

Philosophical Most things we watn are hard to get.

Exciting We are moving into a bigger house that has a perfect space for business!

If you have a nickname, what is it? I don’t have one

Are you single, married, have children? I’m married for 12 yrs. 3’s a charm I guess.

I have 3 daughters & 6 grandchildren ages from 6 months to 17 yrs old


If you have children: how many, what are their names, how old are they: 3 Nina 35, Star 29 & step-daughter Jessica 25

What state do you live in? I live in Tallahassee, FL, originally from Chicago.

What do you spend way too much of your time doing? In front of my computer

What do you wish you could spend more of your time doing? Living, relaxing & being with my family.

How did photography find you? Well I raised 2 girls on tips & bought my first 35mm in 75’. I worked in a BQ restaurant in Tucson & could not afford to take my daughter to a photographer even K-Mart was too high or we could of use the money on food. So I just saved my tips & bought a Canon TLB. And took pictures of my kids & people liked them & asked me to do there family or events.

What is your favorite thing to take pictures of? People, capturing the moments

How long have you been doing photography? 34 years and learning something new everyday.

Do you have a photography business? If so, for how long? I started my business 99’ so that is 8 years.

What is your favorite food? Sushi TUNA!!

What is something you can’t live without? Baby powder & wine (and of course my family/Dogs)

What is something no one knows about you? Hmm… I like to be alone a lot and work. I don’t know I really don’t get a chance to think of me.

What is on your iPod or Playlist: I don’t have one, and what’s a Playlist?

Are you a night owl or early riser? I guess a night owl & still get up early.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure? Cake icing/sweets !!!

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world…dead or alive, who would it be? I guess my mother before she started to get Alzheimer’s. I want her to remember our talks we use to have for more than 15 minutes.

What are some things that you like? I love to cook!! Fishing w/my hubby Jeff.

Playing or talking with my grandkids. My granddaughter Alexis performs at Disney & in musicals & so does my grandson Dakota. And to have a great day in the studio or a great wedding.


What are some things you don’t like? HOT FLASHES!! And when people are rude and they think that they are better than you. And (In business/life) when people do not know what customer service is.

When you can do anything, what do you do? Going swimming/floating I don’t swim all that well and fishing!!

What do you have to do before you die? Have the best studio in town and want to go to Italy where my grandparents are from & Dominican Republic where my mother is from, and of course Peru.

Tell us something more about you:

Funny Kelly, it’s not only being PG that gives you gas!!

I laugh alone or when you have to be quiet. I also laugh in my sleep and wake my self up. I would have loved to written comedy or sitcoms!! My life sometimes is a sitcom.

Serious When it comes to time being late for a shoot or a wedding. I have to be early, early! And writing this questionnaire trying to come up with some decent answers so I won’t sound stupid : 0)

Entertaining I never meet a stranger, hmm…singing to my dogs when I’m getting ready to go to work.

Because I am so crappy at it & what are they going to say? Shut up.

Philosophical You girls are great just the fix I needed. I came up w/a slogan for myself “I have to be inspired before I expire!!!”

Exciting Going to the bathroom everyday?

Just kidding, going to the workshop in NC!!

True I’m a push over for my family I spend too much money on the grandkids.

Meaningful I take care of my parents it’s very rewarding.

Powerful I am proud of my life and that I experienced mother hood so young & survived on our own. I hitchhiked around the country when I was 17 was homeless for a summer (my choice) had a lot of heart breaks and disappointments but man I would not change that in a million years!! I love my kids!! And I met my husband years later.

Name 2 of your weaknesses: self confidence, not exercising, not organized (oops that’s 3) How about 5? I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings & it’s hard for me to say NO!!

7 year old Caroline, five year old Grace and one year old John Michael

What state do you live in ? Indiana

What do you spend way too much of your time doing?Heavens…staring at my laptop! My husband thinks my MAC and I share an umbilical cord.

What do you wish you could spend more of your time doing? Sleeping…

How did photography find you?I hired a woman to take photos of my kids, saw what she did and thought, THAT would be fun! And here I am…

What is your favorite thing to take pictures of?

Kids, for sure…my own or anyone else’s.

How long have you been doing photography ?

Professionally, six months…as a hobby, since high school

Do you have a photography business? If so, for how long? Yes, six months

What is your favorite food? Hmmm…this is a hard one. I love the chicken salad croissants at a local bakery…heavenly!

What is something you can’t live without? ACTUALLY, my family. But, it feels like I can’t live without my MAC. I bet I’d survive, though…

What is something no one knows about you? I used to have a paralyzing fear of flying and thunderstorms…thankfully they are no longer so intense! Oh yeah, and I love reality TV…

What is on your iPod or Playlist: 

High School Musical 2

Are you a night owl or early riser?Early riser by necessity, but would rather be a night owl

What is your favorite guilty pleasure?

TV…especially Entourage and 24…but also love Prison Break and House.

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world…dead or alive, who would it be?My mom’s mom…who was called “Mom” even by the grandkids. I’d love to know more about my own mother, what she was like as a child, what she loved, what made her afraid....things only a mom can truly describe …well, for that matter, even though I had countless dinners with her, I’d love to have one more with my mom.

What are some things that you like? Falling asleep with people milling around the house


What are some things you don’t like
?Wet socks, doing the dishes

When you can do anything, what do you do? Read some sort of mindless Grisham-type book

What do you have to do before you die? Hang out in Ireland doing absolutely nothing.

Funny

I kept a Y2K closet from 1999-2000 with tons of bottled water and batteries…my husband thought I was nuts but I was convinced I would have the last laugh when we were living on beef jerky and reading by candlelight!

Serious

I miss my mother with a gut-wrenching ache at times…even 6 years after her death.

Entertaining 

I can do a pretty mean Cher imitation…but will only do it spontaneously…never on demand!

Philosophical

Something is only a big deal if you make it a big deal. In other words, relax.

I’m going to the Love Affair Workshop!
